At Curlew Counselling, I aim to make the process of starting therapy as calm and straightforward as possible.

Session Fees

Face-to-face counselling

£50 for a 60 minute session (adult)

£40 (children and young people 5-24 years).

Available to children, young people and adults.

£75 for 90 minute sessions available for adults.

Walk-and-Talk Therapy

£50 for a 60 minute session based in Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham.

First Session for all clients (online or face-to-face)

£40 for first session

This gives us an opportunity to meet, ask questions, explore why you have sought counselling and involves a short assessment.

If you are happy to proceed, we will go through the counselling contract and other pertinent information.

Availability

Currently, I offer sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, for which I can offer daytime and early evening appointments.
If I am fully booked, I can offer a place on my waiting list and let you know as soon as a space becomes available.

Location

Face-to-face sessions take place in a quiet, first-floor counselling room in Middleton-in-Teesdale. A ground-floor room can be arranged if stairs are difficult.

‍Walk and Talk Therapy is based in Middleton-in-Teesdale and is dependent on the weather and suitable clothing!

‍Online sessions can take place anywhere in the UK.

Payment

Payment is made by a secure payment link sent to your mobile phone or email address which is sent 48 hours prior to the appointment date.

Booking a Session

Start with reaching out with a message. I will get back within 24 hours, and we will arrange to have a free initial telephone conversation at a mutually convenient time. This will give you an idea of whether you feel ready. Then get in touch and we will organise an initial first session.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person and the issues they bring to the session. I usually suggest between 6 and 8 sessions, as many find this is enough to help them navigate through their difficulties.

You are free to continue or stop when it feels right for you and for us to have that conversation to ensure that you feel fully supported when ready to end the sessions.

What if I need to cancel?

Illness and unexpected events happen – that’s life! If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice or missed sessions without notice will incur the full session fee.

Your scheduled appointment ensures that time remains reserved for your care while allowing open slots to be offered to other clients in need. Please see the full cancellation policy.‍
