“Safe and confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences.”

Professional Membership
For all counsellors and psychotherapists, professional membership is a ‘must’. These organisations, such as NCPS and BACP, play vital roles in promoting and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in the counselling and psychotherapy professions in the UK.
I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.), which means I meet the recognised professional standards for training, ethics and ongoing professional development. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you check this information when choosing your counsellor or psychotherapist. My Registered Membership Number is NCPS599, which can be checked on the NCPS website using this link Find a Therapist. You can also find me on Psychology Today Register.
Ethical Practice and Professional Standards: My commitment to you
Commitment to ethics
At Curlew Counselling, my work is guided by the NCPS Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions - Code of Ethics | NCPS. Your wellbeing, autonomy and confidentiality sit at the heart of every session. I aim to offer a space that feels safe, respectful and transparent — a place where professional integrity and trust support meaningful therapeutic work. As with any professional working within the caring profession and with vulnerable people, an Enhanced DBS certificate is required. I am on the DBS Update Service, which performs an annual check to keep my certificate valid. I have an enhanced certificate to work with both adults and children.
Professional supervision
I engage in regular clinical supervision, ongoing training and reflective practice to ensure my work remains thoughtful, current and responsive. This continual development strengthens the quality of the support I offer, helping me stay attuned to each client’s unique needs and experiences.
Continued professional development
My approach blends professional expertise with empathy and lived understanding. I work collaboratively, shaping each session around your goals, strengths and personal story. Together, we explore challenges with curiosity and compassion, supporting growth that feels grounded, sustainable and genuinely yours. I enhance this expertise through regular CPD opportunities to ensure I am giving you my full commitment to your therapy.
Professional Insurance
All registered counsellors and psychotherapists will hold the appropriate professional insurance in order to deliver their services within private practice. I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance for my counselling practice. Evidence of current cover is available on request.
