Curlew Counselling
A Journey of Personal Growth & Healing
Hello, I’m Clare, a qualified counsellor and registered MNCPS (Acc.) member with the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society).
I became a counsellor because I believe deeply in the power of being heard and accepted for who you are — truly heard and accepted — and the healing this brings about. Many of us struggle with aspects of ourselves such as identity, self-esteem, our thoughts and feelings, our behaviour to others or ourselves, and the impact of our lived experiences, but you don’t have to do this alone.
Many of us carry difficult experiences quietly, trying to cope alone as we don’t want to ‘burden’ our friends and loved ones with our own problems, or admit to our boss that we’re struggling, or think our problems are not as important or significant compared to other people’s problems. Some of us are in very dark places and feel utterly alone and without hope. Counselling offers a place where you can talk things through in a safe, supportive and confidential space. You don’t have to struggle alone.
My values as a therapist reflect my own personal values, that of compassion, honesty, respect, hope, a belief that change is always possible and that life should be lived, not just survived. The fact that you have got this far in exploring different counsellors' websites possibly means you are ready to seek support.
One of my philosophies in life is just do it; seize the moment, don’t overthink it and take the leap of faith and courage that is deep inside you. Seek the support you need.
